Our Community Service Projects

Garden Elementary School students support their community in many ways. Click on the titles below to learn more about their service projects.

Coins for Caring

Garden Gophers have a yearly coin drive to support Tulare’s Light House Rescue Mission. Each year we raise several hundred dollars to donate to the outreach needs of women in our community.

Relay for Life

For several years, Garden School has put together a team for Tulare’s large Relay for Life event each October. Staff members help raise money and participate in the 24-hour walk at Bob Mathias Stadium. In addition, students from sixth grade and student council help with the event by filling and organizing luminary bags for the luminary ceremony at the event. Garden School students have been an important part of the yearly Relay for Life event.

Soda Pop Tops

Student Council led the school in collecting pull-tabs off cans to benefit Valley Children’s Hospital. Kindergarten through sixth grade helps collect thousands of pop tops each year. Their efforts help families of patients at Valley Children’s Hospital with housing costs while children are going through medical treatment.

United for Good
This year Garden has teamed up with TCSD schools throughout the city of Tulare to support Friends of Tulare Animal Services. Friends of Tulare Animal Services is an organization dedicated to supporting Tulare Animal Services by improving the welfare and well-being of animals in our community. They provide assistance in the form of promoting adoption and fostering programs, organizing events, raising awareness about responsible pet ownership, supporting spay/neuter initiatives, and transportation. Join us in supporting such an amazing organization by purchasing your 23-24 UFG shirt that we wear every Wednesday to show that we are United For Good!
